Network Engineer (Consultant/CTH)

Infrastructure Operations Engineer –  under direction from the Senior Network Services Manager, will be responsible primarily for operating, and maintaining tools under the department. These tools include Infoblox NetMRI, Orion Solarwinds, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Solarwinds IPAM, Syslog and Netflow. The Infrastructure Operations Engineer will work with fellow Network Engineers and Systems Administrators to help automate workflow procedures and create or optimize existing tools to reduce provisioning and troubleshooting times using both off-the-shelf and scripting framework



  • Scripting experience in Python or PERL for automating workflow procedures
  • Good Knowledge of Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP); Quality of Service and VLAN configurations; Layer 3 switching, including ip multicast; troubleshooting experience over wide area networks.
  • Knowledge of various network services (Trunking, T1/DS1, MPLS, NAT, DHCP, DNS, NTP, HSRP/VRRP.)
  • Experience with Cisco router and switch configuration (familiarity with the following hardware types: 29/39xx, ISR 4xxx routers and 29xx, 38xx, 45xx, 68xx Catalyst switches, Nexus).
  • Good understanding of Cisco wireless architecture, design, implementation and administration.
  • Good understanding of Radius and/or TACACS.
  • Advanced skills in overall network administration, network installation, configurations, migrations, and problem resolution.
