SharePoint Architect – Perm FTE – Lancaster, PA area 

Lead the planning, operations, budgetary considerations and strategy for the enterprise SharePoint environment.

Planning Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, development and maintenance of custom SharePoint solutions and ensure best practices for development are implemented, while identifying key milestones, risks and issues.
  • Collect and review system data for capacity and planning purposes to determine current/future SharePoint needs
  • Plan and coordinate team activities ranging from problem resolution, infrastructure and application upgrades leveraging organizational change management standards.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate information gathering sessions to validate business cases, gather and document business and functional objectives
  • Lead development of standards and practices for SharePoint development including simple browser-created applications leveraging out-of-the-box SharePoint features, SharePoint Designer-created applications, and custom component development in Visual Studio
  • Manage customer relationship by communicating SharePoint architecture standards and frameworks; answering questions; resolving concerns and issues
  • Partner with internal teams in administering , creating and designing internal/external  SharePoint sites and supporting pages based on collaboration needs, content management
  • Coordinate with appropriate management personnel in implementing Enterprise wide SharePoint changes
  • Interact with client management to answer questions, problems and requests regarding complex system issues
  • Assist with the development of the SharePoint architecture roadmap
  • Oversee appropriate level software /application installations and upgrades and related software packages
  • Improve information usefulness by tracking emerging technologies; evaluating their applicability to business goals and operational requirements

Leadership and People Responsibilities

  • Work closely with programmers, developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
  • Work in a collaborative development environment, providing assistance and technical guidance to less experienced team members
  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing effective procedures and systems technical specifications that meet business requirements.
  • Continually seek out and learn emerging technology patterns and systems.

Finance/Budgetary Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager of Web Services in developing the budget projections based on short and long term goals and objectives
  • Lead  the development and maintenance of custom SharePoint solutions and infrastructures and ensure best practices are implemented
    − Administer, maintain, configure, and ensure integrity of SharePoint environments
    − Develop and support verification of SharePoint solutions delivery, including testing processes, tools, and techniques
    − Assist in the development and maintenance of custom SharePoint solutions and ensure best practices for development are implemented
    − Assist with the development of the SharePoint applications roadmap
    − Monitor SharePoint technical performance and user administration and provide various reporting metrics.
    − Analyze capacity data and develop capacity plans for appropriate level enterprise-wide SharePoint systems
    − Plan and design information systems, using techniques such as structured analysis, data modelling and information engineering
    − Diagnose and resolve application, configuration and code level technical support issues

Requirements:

  • 5+years  in SharePoint administration, content management and solution and infrastructure architecture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Strong experience building and administering a large scale SharePoint 2010 environment.  Experience building and administering large scale FAST Search for SharePoint 2010 environments.
  • Strong experience in managing SharePoint through the use of Powershell and other automated methods.
  • Strong Experience managing SQL Server 2008 database, including experience with clustering technologies, database maintenance, backup plans and disaster recovery scenarios.
  • In depth knowledge of ASP, JavaScript, JSP, CSS, HTML and .NET with an understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience of managing multiple projects and deliverables for different stakeholders.
  • Knowledge in architectural design/architecture, configuration and troubleshooting SharePoint implementations
  • Experience with Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Content Management, Business Process and Forms,
    • Experience designing, implementing and supporting solutions using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2010 (MOSS), Microsoft SharePoint 2010, and Windows SharePoint Services technology platforms (including the BI components of SharePoint)
  • Experience with SharePoint Solutions/Features framework, SOAP, InfoPath, .NET framework and Visual Studio, Web Services (WCF), SharePoint Designer and SharePoint 2010 Powershell
    • Additional technical qualifications include hands-on experience in several of the following products or technologies:  Windows Server 2008, Active Directory, Team Foundation Server 2012, Office 365, Windows Azure

Preferred

  • Masters degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist or in SharePoint technologies
