Associate Director, Oracle Supply Chain- FTE – Suburban Philadelphia

Position Summary:

Manage a team of business analysts, project managers and other IT professionals in the development and support of the company’s business processes and strategies in the areas of: demand planning, supply chain planning and logistics, contract manufacturing and integration with procurement, manufacturing, sales and distribution.  This individual will be responsible for providing leadership in facilitating information and business requirements gathering, structured documentation, systems solutions and presentation of findings to all levels of management.   This person is also responsible for the delivery of systems operational support, medium to large scale projects, as well as strategic leadership.  The right candidate will work closely with business owners, management, system developers and vendors to achieve results in support of business needs.

Travel Requirements:  Domestic and international travel is required

Essential Duties & Responsibilities                                                                                 Percentage of Time


1. Business consulting and partnership

Partners with the business as the main liaison with IT.  Builds strong relationships with the business partners.  Promotes use of existing and new best practices.  Develops and manages business plans and budgets for delivery management, while coordinating with application development managers.  Identifies resource needs.  Responsible for the overall success of the development and delivery of IT applications to the business.  Understands business processes and requirements, and able to translate them into feasible IT solutions.

2. Development and Implementation

Directs technical solutions and leads performance improvement efforts for delivery management and application development based on a solid understanding of the technical concepts, methods, and practices applied by reporting staff to maximize business performance.

3. Support and Maintenance

Collaborates with customers, staff, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify customer requirements, assess impacts to the delivery and development of applications and other IT functions, compare costs and benefits, consider available technologies and processes to coordinate overall technical maintenance and support.  Responsible to maintain a high availability environment that supports the business needs.  Ensure resources and governance are in place and operating effectively.

4. Project Management

Manages Delivery Management and coordinates with Application Development projects and reports to IT management and user/customer management on the status of multiple, concurrent project or service efforts.  Ensure that projects and services are delivered on-time and on-budget, according to business needs and specifications.

5. Vendor Management

Researches technology innovations and recommends IT solutions that plan for future IT needs and align with the long-term business goals.  Manages relationships and engagements with consultants and other service providers.

6. People Management

Staffs and manages Delivery Management project teams and/or service units with specialists to ensure results; sets performance standards defined by negotiated customer expectations and ensures team adheres to internal IT standards, methodologies, and strategies.  Lead a team of business analysts and IT professionals to success.  Make hiring decisions, manage performance, provide coaching and mentoring.

7. Follows Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures. 10%

Position Requirements

Education Required: MS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
Education Preferred MBA
Experience Required: 10-15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or related industry a plus. Demonstrated success in project management and execution with involvement in multiple major projects or a sustained record of success delivering complex IT services to a diverse clientele.


Experience with large scale ERP systems and implementation, such as Oracle or SAP in a global environment.


Experience Preferred: International experience and exposure


Global Supply Chain projects


Experience with DataWarehouse / Business Intelligence applications

Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed: Oracle EBS 11.5.10 or higher versions

Oracle ASCP (Advanced Supply Chain Planning) 11.5.10 or higher versions


OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence)


Oracle database concepts


Functional Knowledge: Supply Chain concepts and strategies
