Manager Infrastructure System Services – Wayne, PA

JOB SUMMARY:

This Manager-level position is responsible for managing the Infrastructure System Services team, including, but not limited to resource planning and allocation, metrics development, internal customer relationship development, performance assessment and reviews, hiring and other staff management functions.

The Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Infrastructure System Services group.  Implements and provides guidance related to server technologies and applications.  Oversees the work of System Engineers and System Administrators.  Works with other department leaders to complete projects.

Directly manage a staff of Systems Engineers and Systems Administrators including assignments, guidance and skill development.  Accountable for performance metrics of all direct reports.  All responsibilities relative to employment including hiring, appraisal, corrective action and compensation.

Work cooperatively with departmental support groups to ensure high quality customer service is maintained.  Accountable for the group’s activities and performance related to incident management, change management and problem management.

  • Develops and implements Information Technology Strategy and Processes that provide the systems,   technology and organization necessary to support and enhance the overall business strategy.
  • Work with the business, providing leadership for the design and implementation of  applications that both increase speed of service to customers as well as improve cost efficiencies.
  • Executes managerial responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems, and managing to budgeted administrative expense levels.
  • Work as required with external customers to ensure technology integrations are done on time and within budget.
  • Ensure work is prioritized so as to meet business partner and external customer deadlines.
  • Mentor and coach resources within the organization.
  • Develops processes to identify future technologies and to integrate them into the company to support and enhance business strategies.
  • Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementation technical solutions.
  • Effectively work across departmental boundaries to foster collaboration and teamwork.
  • Provide  leadership and decision making on critical project issues as they pertain to project scope, value, schedule, methodology and resources at project, functional and task levels.
  • Manage the Systems Services team that designs, configures, tests and supports server, database and storage products and services.
  • Responsible for ensuring disaster readiness including testing and refinement as needed.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of Infrastructure Systems Engineering experience with at least 3 years experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience with Microsoft server products (Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, File Services, etc), Virtualization technologies (VMWare), RedHat, Oracle database products, EMC storage products Strategic thinker w/ability to develop and implement process, procedures, and metric.
  • Ability to apply advanced problem solving techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to mobilize and motivate teams towards a common vision and set of objectives.
  • Ability to execute Information Technology strategies in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and work in fast paced multi-client environment.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
