Position Summary

The IT Manager/Senior Manager, Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse, is responsible for managing North America Business Intelligence reporting and analytics team supporting strategic goals of the company. The IT Manager/Senior Manager BI/DW will actively develop the team to deliver high quality solutions, on time and on budget; will ensure appropriate priorities are set within the organizations, and will actively promote awareness and alignment of delivered services to compliance requirements.

The position’s objective is to develop and communicate technology models, processes, tools, standards, and methodologies used in the BI/DW architecture domains, in support of all business processes areas and in alignment with the overall IT and business strategy. It designs “end-to-end” solutions, considering people, process and technology, aligning the business processes with technology roadmaps, articulating the transition from current to future state, and documenting the strategic intent as a part of any design solution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities                                                                                                                

  • Design and delivery of new solutions across multiple functional areas: technical design specifications, database and RPD architecture utilizing existing and creating new tables, design of new Dashboards and Reports.  Practical hands-on experience supporting Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing environments (OBIEE required, Cognos and SAP BW preferred, SAS, Siebel Analytics acceptable).
  • Lead and manage internal and external development groups to successfully deliver on BI projects: review specifications, explain work to be done, monitor development and documentation, and reinforce development and design standards. Mentors BI team members on technical and functional skills.
  • Develop and sustain efficient task assignment process, job monitoring, status reports, SLA metrics. Enhance development process methodology and apply best practices during SDLC. Practice effective documentation control. Lead initiatives on improving processes and system performance within TNA BI program.
  • Sets and enforces Data Policy and the technical solution for the management, storage, access, navigation, movement, and transformation of data. Examines and enforces opportunities to provide data reuse, balancing the issues of centralization and replication. Ensures the preservation of strategic data assets.
  • Monitors and guides design of a semantically rich business model of the enterprise problem domain independent of any technology solution.
  • Closely works with business analysts, end-users, all other IT groups on delivering common solutions and effectively utilizing existing skills and resources.
  • Oversees change management and project communication. Identifies risks, communicate status to all stakeholders, manage scope and delivery.
  • Leads the evaluation of vendor software targeted for possible integration into the systems or environment, including strategic applications, tools, and utilities. Maintains working knowledge of advancing data analysis technologies (including, not limited to, OBIEE, Cognos, Essbase, Hyperion Planning, Tableaux, Business Objects, etc).

Experience Required7+ years of BI/DW experience focusing on OBIA (11g and higher), Informatica, ETL, PL/SQL.  4+ years supervisory experience required. OBIA (11g and higher), Data Modeling, strong schema design knowledge (Star, Snowflake, etc), OLAP, Informatica ETL, DAC, Data Warehouse design and architecture, PL/SQL, stored procedures, packages, Oracle database, relational/dimensional databases, batch and Unix script writing. Candidate needs to have ETL development skills and experience with OBIEE/OBIA.  It will be a hands-on role but also has to have experience directly managing people.

Experience Preferred:  SAP/BW, Hyperion/Essbase, Business Objects. Experience managing offshore resources.
